The athletes of CSC Karate team demonstrated their exceptional skills and unwavering determination at the 2023 USA Nationals Karate Championships and Team Trials in Richmond, VA. Held from July 13th to July 16th, the championship witnessed some competition from across the nation.
In the 11-year-old Girls division Arina Naidovska showed breathtaking talent. Dominating the Kata division, Arina used her precise technique and steady focus to secure her 1st place and claiming the title of the 2023 National Champion.
One of our other standout fighters on the CSC Karate team, Gor Alekyan delivered an impressive performance in the 14-15 years old Elite division. Gor displayed dedication and skill as he scored 3 victories in a tough fight. His exceptional performance earned him a well-deserved bronze medal and the 3rd place title in his division.
In the 10-year-old Boys Kumite division, young Albert Vardanyan secured an impressive win in two fights, though he faced tough competition and lost two other fights. Despite the challenges, his remarkable performance earned him 5th place in his division.
Another promising young talent, 9-year-old Alen Petrosyan, showed incredible potential in the Boys Kumite division. He fought hard and won two fights, however, he lost once. Alen’s efforts earned him 5th place.
Collectively, the CSC Karate team brought home two impressive medals – a gold medal claimed by Arina Naidovska in the Kata division, and a bronze medal earned by the exceptional Gor Alekyan in the 14-15 years old Elite division.
